“Apollo II: The Paradox” (Premiered NY Philharmonic Young People’s Concert)

The piece explores this duality — the paradox between triumph and loss, celebration and sorrow — through shifting harmonies and textures that mirror the vastness of space and the solitude of remembrance.

Premiered at the New York Philharmonic Young People’s Concert at David Geffen Hall, New York, this work holds special significance for Hayden. Composed at age 10, it was both his first publicly performed work in the United States and the last concert he attended before the COVID-19 pandemic — a symbolic milestone in his artistic journey.
